About the Commission

HAPOC is an Inter-division Commission of the Division of the History of Science and Technology and the Division of Logic, Methodology and Philosophy of Science and Technology. Following the activities of a Steering Committee with the same name, it was established in 2013 as DHST Commission and co-commissioned by DLMPST in 2015.

The aims of this Commission are:

• To enhance our understanding of computing by means of historical and philosophical explorations;
• To enforce and support collaborations among researchers involved in any of the topics relevant to HaPoC
• To promote the organization of scientific and cultural events that strengthen knowledge and
  relevance of computing.
